DSC_0030 copy DSC_0031 copy DSC_0024 copy seriously though, my closest friends are: fun, real and honest, good, entertaining, in love with life, a little crazy, down to earth, deep, and incapable of bs. mostly i just stinking LOVE knitting. * my friend lauren's new baby is perfect. i love her blog, too. it's called nesting habits (love that) and it's such a happy spot. me plus you quilt (i hate in quilting and knitting and sewing when the designs get all fancy just because they can). one thing i enjoy about facebook is the old pictures that friends and fam upload to walk down memory lane together with you. like this one, for instance. my older brother uploaded it while reminiscing about the old buggie he rebuilt in the 80s. but i couldn't stop looking at the picture because it shows the place where i played for the first 12 years of my life. it transported me back in time to simpler, sunnier days, and it's been making really happy to stare at today. the other day sarah jane posted about her obsession for vintage childrens' books, specifically their illustrations to inspire her in her artwork. i loved her post because i have the same love for old childrens' books and they are favorite things to look for during garage sale season. i thought i'd share my favorites. of all the cool old stuff out there, can i admit to being lame enough that the vintage little golden books are my favorite? alot because they remind me of my childhood (we had a large collection that i read over and over and...) but also because of illustrator eloise wilkin. she did alot of the books between the 50s-70s, and her drawings of little cherubic children with eyes full of wonderment, are my favorites. the other day sarah jane posted about her obsession for vintage childrens' books, specifically their illustrations to inspire her in her artwork. i loved her post because i have the same love for old childrens' books and they are favorite things to look for during garage sale season. i thought i'd share my favorites. of all the cool old stuff out there, can i admit to being lame enough that the vintage little golden books are my favorite? alot because they remind me of my childhood (we had a large collection that i read over and over and...) but also because of illustrator eloise wilkin. she did alot of the books between the 50s-70s, and her drawings of little cherubic children with eyes full of wonderment, are my favorites. luckily, the little golden books illustrated by eloise wilkin are still widely available and can be found often at thrift stores, on ebay and etsy, and even on amazon. and they couldn't be more highly recommended by this vintage book lover.
