i always enjoy knitting lacy stuff but this pattern was especially fun, super easy, and portable. besides the warmth and earthiness, i love to look at eloise wilkin's illustrations for the color and style inspiration for clothe-making and crafting. the vintage smocks the little girls are always wearing melt my heart. i love all the little aviator caps, cardigans, twirly skirts, and wooly coats. the wall paper patterns and upholstery designs are also always inspiring... turns out they are cate's favorites, too. we have read hansel and gretel SO many times it is beginning to finally fall apart. so big and the little book are also common around here- i loved to read her those two as she was entering the big girl world. and we like kindergarten is what i used to prepare cate for school. oh those golden spines! 2804369883_a7c4a3d610 pps- don't forget the shop update tomorrow...i have no idea what time, but there will be patterns and kits for the quilt (thanks for all your kind words!) just as soon as i have enough diet coke in me to face the day.
